The Rationale for Establishing the Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking\nback at the twentieth century, we experienced many conflicts such as the Second\nWorld War, the Cold War and many others caused by differences of ethics,\nreligions and ideologies, resulting in loss of lives, dignity and cultural heritage.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sadly\nthis happened because wealth was used as a weapon and diversity became a\nproblem instead of causing human society to flourish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\neconomy should support us to live comfortably, and culture and art should make our\nlives meaningful. Our organisation believes international cooperation based on\nlearning and creating culture and art will enrich our wisdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Osaka\nhas been the centre of culturally important performance arts such as Kabuki and\nBunraku for the past 1500 years. It has also been trading with other countries\nfor centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nwater from Osaka\u2019s rivers flows out into the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean and Atlantic\nOcean, nourishing six continents and reaching all corners of the planet of\nwater, \u201cEarth\u201d. We strongly hope that, in the twenty-first century, music and\nculture from Osaka will flow out in the same way and benefit our lives and relationships\nand help us work closely together towards peace and a world without wars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\ncompetition was established to achieve this goal and intends to encourage many\nyoung talented musicians with their hopes and ambitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
