Personal Information Protection Policy

The Secretariat of the OSAKA International Music Competition appropriately handles the personal information of competition participants and all related parties.

  • Policy 1. Personal information obtained through the competition, concerts, and related events (collectively referred to as “Competition Events”) will be used solely for the operation of these Competition Events and will not be used for any other purpose.
  • Policy 2. Personal information will not be provided to third parties without the consent of the individual.
  • Policy 3. We strive to take all necessary and appropriate measures to prevent and remedy leakage, loss, or damage of personal information, as well as to ensure its safe management.

Disclosure of Prizewinner Information and Consent

Under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, “personal information” refers to information that can identify an individual, such as name, address, or contact details. Prizewinner information (name, affiliation, and award received) also falls under personal information requiring protection. However, in accordance with the purpose of the Competition, applicants are deemed to have consented to the public disclosure of their prizewinner information at the time of application.

Purpose of Use of Personal Information

Personal information will be used for the following purposes and will not be used beyond these purposes:

A. Operation of Competition Events
B. Announcements and notifications related to Competition Events
C. Publication of competition results
D. Responding to opinions and inquiries regarding Competition Events

However, personal information may be provided without the individual’s consent when permitted under relevant laws and regulations, including the following cases:

A. When it is determined that the individual may cause disadvantage to a third party
B. When necessary for the improvement of public health or the sound development of children
C. When a court, public prosecutor’s office, police, or other authority with equivalent legal power formally requests disclosure in writing
D. When disclosure or provision is permitted by law

Personal Information Not Collected

We do not collect personal information that includes the following:

A. Matters related to thoughts, beliefs, or religion
B. Matters related to race, ethnicity, family origin, registered domicile (excluding prefecture-level information), physical or mental disabilities, criminal history, or other socially discriminatory information
C. Matters related to workers’ rights to organize, collective bargaining, or other collective actions
D. Participation in demonstrations, exercise of petition rights, or other political rights
E. Health information
